We enjoyed a relaxing arvo with a couple of beers ‘n a hyper Callia @ Elder park in Adelaide..

We’re clearing out our flat over the next 2 days.. from which we’ll be living out of our suitcases in a virtually empty space for the remainder of our time in the UK..

We saw my midwife on Thursday.. had my final check up done and the lillun checked for position, movement and heart rate.. all’s well.. she’s still saying that we have a happy baby inside.. which is all that matters.. imagine having an angry baby inside!

Gotta see my GP tomorrow.. as midwive’s aren’t allowed to check my chest ie. heart rate, etc ..so once we’ve seen the GP.. and had them sign my ‘fit to fly’ form to accompany my letter from the midwife.. we’re all set.. no more formalities, hopefully

We’re struggling to find time to catch up with people.. I’ve so far had drinks with a few people from work.. and still catching up with mates I’m not gonna see for, quite possibly, years..

Yesterday we headed to Newtown with our mate Steve and his girlie, only to end up @ Aberystwyth..lol ..dun ask! we were trying to grab some decent pub grub somewhere.. it turned out to be really fun.. not only was it my first visit to the Welsh coast.. but it’s also the first time I have seen the ocean in AGES!!..

We managed to find a decent pub that served decent food.. so much so it left us bursting at the seams.. but not so much as to say no to a proper seaside ice cream mmm… rum and raisin with triple choc..*drools*

We have got pics of this event.. but chances are that they won’t be posted until we’re in Australia.. unfortunately.. but should we actually have time to post the pics.. i’ll make sure it’s known.

Anyways.. we’ll be flying out on Thursday night.. and this may very well be my last post.. in the meantime, come Wednesday night, my blog (and DP’s web pages) will be offline.. every time my (or DP’s) address is hit.. it will be redirected to a place holder.. hopefully this wont be for too long.. as we hope to have the IND-Network up and hosting as quickly as we can..

So if I dun blog before… I shall blog again.. from the other side of the world

..not exactly a teletext holiday.. ‘n not exactly booked on the tinternet (thanks Peter Kay) ..but it works

Our tickets have been booked and paid for now.. and now that we have a date.. we can be certain on what’s happening and when..

** Enquired about travel insurance and will have it organised and sorted by Thursday..

** I’ve checked with my bank.. made sure I can access funds overseas..

** Cancelled Direct Debits and Standing Orders..

** Selling loads of stuff on Ebay..

** DP’s dismantled his cluster and is ready to sell them off ( I didn’t realise how many putes ‘n stuff it consisted of until he listed it..lol)..

** Contacting International Shipping companies to see how much it’ll cost to ship over our tiny boxes of belongings.. it dun even reach 1 cubic metre..lol

** Continuing with the packing that started a few weeks ago..

** I have appointments with my obstetrician and midwife to go to before I leave..

…and bob’s ya uncle! Well.. there’s prolly a lil bit more we need to sort out.. ie. clearing flat and whatnot.. but that goes without saying.. the main part is that WE’RE GOING TO AUSTRALIA! ..lol

We’re departing April 19th.. to arrive in Australia April 21st. I’m looking forward to it.. I’ve never had a problem with flying.. its much like an extremely long bus ride.. and it should be fun for the little one.. having travelled half way across the world before it’s even born..

DP bought a cute lil jumpsuit for the lillun today.. has the Welsh Flag onnit and says ‘Made In Wales’ ..lol ..’cos of course it was *smiles* ..we were gonna hold off.. but for only a fiver.. hadta get it!

..tis a huge relief that we’ve sorted this out.. albeit it being a tight schedule.. financially and time-wise.. it’s a move I’ve been adamant about making since first knowledge of being pregnant.. for me.. having my family around will be invaluable.. DP and I will get the chance to just spend time together, even if only for 30mins in a day or arvo.. not forgetting our relationship.. as well as our family one.. plus I think Australia is a better place to bring the little one up.. there’s more opportunity there, life’s quite different from that in the UK.. and we wanna give the lillun the best we can provide

..here’s to a new life and new adventures

we feel we can’t achieve anything here as we’re always trying to catch up with ourselves and life basically..

..increasingly i’m missing home and all it has to offer and cannot wait to introduce DP to an entirely different, yet positive lifestyle.. there are more opportunities in Oz.. for both DP and I .. it just so happens his occupation is on the most demanded list of trades.. which is handy as well

i think one of my last posts.. before we experienced data loss that is.. touched on the subject of moving back to Oz.. but now its all we’re focusing on.. now or never i guess..

we’ll keep ya updated, as there’s bound to be more news to follow
